healthy.toronto: Gluten Free Garage Review

Gluten Free Garage

As a gluten-free eater (80% of the time – I do cheat), I was immediately intrigued by Toronto’s Gluten Free Garage event. If you’re gluten free, you know that there isn’t as many places that cater to gluten free needs as there should be. Having a one stop shop for all things gluten-free was something I couldn’t pass up!

Luckily, the Gluten Free Garage invited me down to check out their Fall edition of their marketplace. How was it? In a word – perfection!

Come read some of the brands I got to interact (and eat) with at the event!

toronto.event: Les Miserables Review

Les Mis Stage

Confession time: I’m an avid musical theatre-goer. If it comes to Toronto with Mirvish, there’s a 80% chance that I’m going to shell out money to see it. I’ve always loved musical theatre – ever since my first introduction to the timeless PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, I’ve been hooked.

I’ve been to four plays already this year – the latest one? LES MISERABLES, currently on stage at The Princess of Wales theatre in Toronto.

Whether your an experience theatre-goer like myself, new to musical theatre, or just a fan of the recent LES MISERABLES film adaptation, LES MISERABLES is a play you have to see. No ifs, ands, or buts – it’s singlehandedly one of the best theatre productions I’ve ever seen in my life. Period.

Veg Food Fest

This past weekend, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to check out the Toronto Vegetarian Food Festival. If you remember from my original event post, this was the 29th year of the festival that takes over the Harbourfront Centre. The three day festival offered over 100 different vegan / vegetarian vendors – everything from vegan bakeries, cooking demonstrations, speaking panels, and how-to’s. What better way to spend a weekend?

Come check out my recap of the event below!

When I heard BlushPretty was hosting their annual Beauty Board, I was in! If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, BlushPretty (a Torontonian based makeup artistry and beauty company) annually hosts an event where they allow their fans to interact with some great Canadian talent. Included in the talent pool are normally cosmetic, jewellery, accessory, and fashion lines that BlushPretty usually interact with. Since I’m good friends with Elaine, talent manager at BlushPretty and owner of Toronto Beauty Reviews, she let me know that this was the ‘can’t miss event’ of the year. I’m glad I took her advice, because it was a great Sunday afternoon in the city.

Yummy food, shopping, and beauty talk? I’m in!
